First Opened as an angling venue in 2002, Graviers nestles in the heart of the wine making region of Burgundy and is situated 20 minutes from the French City of Dijon, around 318 Kilometres South East of Paris. Surrounded by unspoilt French countryside, but not too far from the A31, the venue boasts two lakes for the carp angler to choose from by way of Gravier's Main lake and Gravier's Long lake.
The Main lake, home to the late Scarred Fish is around 26 acres in size and holds a stock of around 300 carp ranging in size between 25 and 85lbs in weight. A 16 year labour of love for Luke Moffatt, the Main lake has been managed to ensure that angling pressure has been kept to a minimum, ensuring the lake has not been overfished like many of the more commercial French carp fisheries. Not an easy lake to crack, the Main Lake is better suited to the more experienced carp angler but big rewards are there for those that are willing to work hard for their takes.
The Long lake, first opened in 2004 is around 5 acres in size and was originally dug as a stock pond for the Main lake. Following it's opening, the fish have piled on the weight and continue to respond well to the anglers bait. With around 500+ carp between 15 and 50 lbs, It's possible to catch on both bottom baits and off of the surface making the lake great place to hone your skills. The Long Lake is suitable for the slightly less experienced angler but is ideally suited to those who are looking to catch numbers of fish during their stay.
To celebrate DT's partnership with the Graviers, Luke has added a prize draw to his website where one lucky entrant stands to win a week's session for two anglers on Graviers Main Lake, inclusive of return ferry crossing, 50Kgs of DT Baits Boilies and a set of 3 10ft, Nash Scopes! Why not head over and try your luck.
