I first started fishing at around the age of 10, using nothing more than jam jars, until my mum and dad bought me a small rod and a Mitchell reel. Shortly afterwards, we moved from London to Tiptree, where I became heavily involved in match fishing and regularly took part in competitions.

My carp fishing journey began around 25-30 years ago after catching my biggest-ever common carp at the time, a 21lb fish from The Fennes, on a small match rod. That capture sparked a passion for carp fishing that has stayed with me ever since.

Over the years, I joined several syndicates, but one in particular stands out: Fryerning. It was there that I met Neil Messenger, who kindly invited me to visit the DT Baits factory around 17-18 years ago.

I started using the excellent N-Blend at Fryerning and went on to land my personal best mirror carp of 42lb 14oz. From that moment, I was hooked on DT products. Since then, I have been fortunate enough to catch many carp over 30lb and 40lb, with my biggest to date being a magnificent 59lb 8oz mirror.
