I got into fishing properly about four years ago, when I was younger, my dad used to take me. I can’t remember what lakes, but I used to go to tiddler bashing as he used to call it. I always had the passion for it. I remember my first year going into a tackle shop and how everything went over my head thinking I wasn’t even going to be able to get into fishing but I managing to catch every session starting on day tickets got me the buzz for it then after that it was no hope. I was being a right tackle tart. Buying tackle and stuff left right centre as you do then, got into a membership which actually threw me completely into the deep end, 6 months later, blanking on the mill pool and 8 months on the wood I start finally started bagging up carp after 50 tench later really getting a feel for it learning every session trying new things and having great success as it was more of accomplishment catching carp on these lakes compared to a day ticket. After that fishing took my life over forever and helped me out so many ways which I can never imagine with PBs, mega catches, memories made, and places explored, I can’t have asked for my better hobby. I love fishing and it’s my passion until the day I die.

Bait of choice:

It’s got to be the Crustazia for me or the n-blend, can’t beat using sweetcorn from time to time.

Currently fishing:

the KWCA ticket in Kent, I’ve been on this membership for 4 years going into my 5th I’ve managed to accomplished a lot on this ticket in those four years from pbs to mega catches, learning and tackling new waters with 8 lakes and one big 120 acre pit, with  being so close to completing my goals I set out for myself I’m exited for what the future hold and what I can accomplish.

Mill pool my hidden gem, the lake that’s got my heart and everything that’s made my fishing experience even better, it’s the lake that I’m trying to complete with a stock over just shy of 100 carp in, with 8 more to go that I need and 22 out of the 25 stockies that they put in all stunning dark carp with a beautiful spring fed water, I’m so close to the end goal with recaptures after recaptures I’m slowing pulling them out hopefully after this year I’ll be very close to that goal and will be able to put that lake to the rest and will be able to fish it for fun .

Carp fishing tip:

Location and accuracy are key, no carp no wet net. 

Recent Fishing highlight:

So I was fishing the 120 acre big pit for the 12th time on a blanking streak, I blanked the first night for right the I thought I’ll move to the top of the point the next morning I spotted some carp, got three hinges on Helles with the Bead to the top managed to find three holes in the weed after I put my third rod out I walked down to my pals swim to show him how to tie up a heli-system as I was about to tighten the lead I heard my buzzer scream so I ran to my roads behold I was into a carp heart beating saying to myself please don’t lose this to the weed lol I managed to get in the water push my net towards the fish grab the weed bed before the carp to grab some weed off before netting it then manage to net it in excitement I shouted ahooyt I’ve bagged my first mirror. I was so excited and gobsmacked and how quick I had to run compare compared to those 12 sessions of blanking 20 minutes of the rod being out the move paid off.
