I’ve been into to fishing all my life my earliest memories were watching uncle Stephen going off fishing with my cousin Max and I hated being left behind.
My first trip I was just over two years old and uncle Stephen took me and our dogs over to our local club lake to bait up ready for the weekend end when he was taking Max fishing. The lake was frozen apart from one corner and when we got closer uncle Stephen spotted some fish feed so he quickly picked me up and we went running to the van.
We returned with a rod net and mat and a bucket with some bait and some PVA meshing of bait already tied we hooked one on and lowered in and before I knew it I was helping play my first ever carp.
I done the odd bit down the river whip fishing but it wasn’t until I was 5 and had learnt to swim before my mum finally gave in and let me go night fishing for the first time but Charlie my big sister had to come just to help. Since then I haven’t looked back and have been on some amazing trips and made a lot of good friends along the way.
PBs:
Favourite rig:
At the moment I’m using the Ronnie rig but this is more because it’s the easiest one for me to tie up with without hooking myself.
Bait of choice:
That’s a hard one I’m like a kid in a sweet shop when we go to pick up our bait if I had my way I would come away with all the ranges I just love the smell of all of them.
I love N-blend and it’s caught me my pb but at the moment I’m getting a lot of recaptures on my club lake so I have switched over to Pukka fish Peach and sour cream in 22 because I’ve had success with it before.
I also love my custom rolled Coldwater and Bubble gum for the winter.
Currently fishing:
I’ve got a few more fish to catch out of my local club water over the summer holidays. I’m also lucky enough to have a yearly trip to Berners Hall and Waterside Fisheries with some good friends.
Carp fishing tip:
I’ve been very lucky since the start of my fishing journey I’ve have been a part of this team and I have been lucky enough to fish with most of them now at different socials.
My tip is for the younger angler starting out always be polite and respectful of other anglers when you are people are more happy to pass on advice and tips and offer help to you.
Recent Fishing highlight:
My previous Pb I caught on a social at Sandhurst just as my mum turned up to see us so not only did I have some good friends on hand I also had my mum, sister and Harley my dog to share the moment with me.
I have fished a lot of socials on Berners with the team and along the way I have helped out and seen a lot of big fish the1st 40lb I saw was when Peder had a 46. It’s been hard going and I’ve picked up the odd double along the way, so it was amazing to finally catch my 1st 20lb and to get a brace shoot with Uncle Stephen it has been a long time coming. The icing on the cake came when my next fish went 37-14 my new pb and to catch it with Peder and Michael on hand to help made it really special as they have been there since the start.
